Zephyranthes grandiflora

Pink rain lily, Zephyranthes grandiflora, produces large pink flowers over a long period in summer, particularly after periods of rainfall.  Grow in sun to part sun in well drained soil.  Thought to originate in Central America, it is hardy to at least 15 degrees F.   In cool, moist climates, it can be grown in containers, protected from winter cold and should be kept on the dry side in winter.   It is a member of the Amaryllis family and  will die back to a dormant bulb in winter, reappearing with spring rains.
