Soldanella cyanaster


Soldanella cyanaster is one of the larger alpine snowbell with robust oval dark green leaves and nodding, flaring nearly blue flowers with a delicate fringe around the edge. It flowers in late winter to early spring.  Grows to 6″ x 12″ in several seasons.    Cool sun to part shade and moist, very well drained soil.  Hardy to 10 degrees F.  Primulaceae    Some authorities list Soldanella cyanaster as a synonym for Soldanella chrysosticta.
