Scilla autumnalis, Autumn squill, is a variable fall flowering bulb with narrow leaves and small scapes of rosy pink to lilac flowers to 6" high. It is found in Western Europe and the Mediterrenean. This is delicate and interesting addition to the smaller scale garden for fall color and interest. Fully hardy, it prefers sun to part shade and well-drained soil.
There is debate among botanists about this variable plant with some authorities placing the entire group under the name Prospero autumnal.
