Saxifraga crustata is a choice section Ligulatae silver saxifrage that forms dense mats of  narrow foliage that is lime encrusted along the leaf margin.  It produces 12″ stems of creamy white flowers in summer.  A native to the Dolomites where it grows in dolomitic outcroppings.  Grow in gritty, well drained neutral to alkaline soil or in tufa in partial shade.   Hardy to -10 degrees F.
