Saxifraga cochlearis ‘Minor’

Saxifraga cochlearis 'Minor' is a diminutive silver saxifrage that forms a dense cushion of tiny, encrusted rosettes and some years it produces a few sprays of white flowers to 6″ in early summer.   It is easy to please in gritty, well drained soil in partial shade and protected from excessive winter wet.  Hardy to -10 degrees F.  Saxifragaceae

After much debate and assistance from Rex Murfitt of British Columbia, Canada, we have determined that this plant formerly sold under the name Saxifraga valdensis is actually Saxifraga cochlearis ‘Minor’.
