Sarracenia psittacina, the parrot pitcher plant, forms low growing rosette with hollow, puffed hood that attract and trap insects and small scented red flowers in spring.  Shallow water and boggy soil in full sun.  This disctinctive pitcher plant is native to bogs along the gulf coast of the Southeastern U.S. Hardy to -10 degrees F.
