Raoulia australis

Raoulia australis, also known as Raoulia lutescens, is a New Zealand native groundcover that forms dense carpet with minute yellow flower in summer.   Grow in full sun, gritty, humus rich soil, protect from winter wet.   Use in rock garden or trough. Hardy to 10 degrees F. Found in scree and rocky areas in New Zealand.  Asteraceae

Our plants are grown from wild collected seeds and the leaves are smaller, darker and denser than what we’ve seen offered commercially as Raoulia australis.  It also seems to have less winter die-back.  Plants of similar appearance have been offered as Raoulia lutescens which is a synonym of Raoulia australis according to the online version of Flora of New Zealand.
