Pulsatilla vulgaris ‘Heiler Hybrids’

Pulsatilla-vulgaris-Heiler-Hybrids

Pulsatilla vulgaris 'Heiler Hybrids' is a seed raised mixed color variety of the Pasque Flower. It produces an array of flower colors from white to pink to red and shades of lavender-purple in spring.  As with all Pulsatillas, they also produces ornamental seed heads for an extended show.   This deciduous perennial has finely cut leaves that forms an attractive mound 10” high and wide. Grow in full to part sun in well drained, infertile soil.   It has a large taproot and is fairly drought tolerant but the taproot makes it difficult to transplant. In all other ways, it is an easy to grow and long lived perennial that looks great in rock gardens, scree and raised beds.  Found in meadows and grassy areas in the European Alps. Hardy to -20 degrees F. Ranunculaceae
