Pterocephalus perennis


Pterocephaus perennis is a drought tolerant perennial that forms a nice mound of gray-green leaves and is covered with large pink-purple Scabiosa-like flowers on short stems in summer followed by interesting seedhead.   3” x 8-18”   Grow in full sun in very well-drained soil with low water. This has been a very reliable and attractive plant in our scree bed for many years.  Hardy to 0 degrees F. Native of Greece where it is often found in disturbed areas.  Dipsacaceae
