Lilium pardalinum ssp shastense


Lilium pardalinum ssp shastense, Shasta lily, has magenta spotted, yellow-orange flowers with recurved petals (curved backward toward stem).  Plants can grow up to 5′ tall.   It is a good increaser and will form a nice clump over time.  Grow in partial sun in humus rich, well-drained soil.  Prefers soil that is moist throughout the year. Found in meadows and along streams in the forests of northeast California mountains at 3,000 to 5400′ elevation. Hardy to -20 degrees F. Liliaceae
