Iris wilsonii is a rare Siberian species iris with soft yellow flowers in spring. Grow in sun to part shade in moderately fertile, moist soil. Does best in our gardens when grown in partial shade and protected from hot afternoon sun. A native to mountain areas in Western China where it grows in moist sites. Hardy to -20 degrees F. Iridaceae
There is some debate about whether Iris wilsonii and the similarly yellow colored species, Iris forrestii, are distinct species.
