Sulphur flower buckwheat, Eriogonum umbellatum var umbellatum, forms low mats of loose rosettes of ovate, gray-green leaves with yellow flowers in summer.  Sun, low water, very well drained soil.  Hardy to  –40 degrees F     Polygonaceae  Our plants are grown from seed collected in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah.  The species is commonly found in rocky and sandy soil at 3,000-9,000 feet in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming and Idaho
