Pretty Shooting Star, Dodecatheon pulchellum, has light green basal rosettes with spikes of pink flowers in spring. Grow in sun to part shade in well drained, humus rich soil. Keep moist fall through spring, drier during summer dormancy. Very cold hardy to – 40 degrees F. Widely distributed in moist meadows and streams from the Plains to the mountains in the West.
