We obtained a start of this plant from Jane McGary who grew it from seed collected in Turkey. While we are not certain of the species, it most closely resembles Dianthus anatolicus and forms a dense gray-green cushion with small purple-pink flowers. The hummocks can grow quite large over time so it a nice plant for the open rock garden. 4″ x 12″+. Grow in full sun in well-drained soil. Very tough and drought tolerant. Hardy to -20 degrees F.
