Dactylorhiza hybrids

A mass planting of marsh orchids, Dactylorhiza hybrids, such as the one pictured above at Woodland Way Nursery is a truly stunning sight.  These hardy European native terrestrial orchids do best in moist, fertile soil and will naturalize over the years when their requirements are met.  Our plants are of garden origin and therefore most likely hybrids with some combination of Dactylorhiza fuchsia, D. maculata and D. majalus in their parentage.   Colors range from pale to dark pink with highly variable markings on the flowers and leaves.  The height ranges from 15" to 30" on average.
