Adiantum venustum

Himalayan Maidenhair Fern, Adiantum venustum, has lovely, lacey green fronds with black stems to 12″ high.  It is a slowly creeping groundcover that is evergreen in our Pacific Northwest maritime climate but is deciduous in colder climates. Grow in light shade in humus rich soil.  It should be kept moist as it does not tolerate drought.  The Himalayan Maidenhair fern can also be grown as a houseplant. Hardy to -20 degrees F. Pteridaceae
