Raoulia subsericea

Raoulia australis

(Syn. Raoulia lutescens)

New Zealand native groundcover forms dense carpet with tiny yellow flower in summer.   Grow in full sun, gritty, humus rich soil, protect from winter wet.   Use in rock garden or trough. Hardy to 0 degrees F. Found in scree and rocky areas in New Zealand.  Asteraceae

Our plants are grown from wild collected seeds and the leaves are smaller, darker and denser than what we've seen offered commercially as R. australis.  It also seems to have less winter die-back.  Plants of similar appearance have been offered as Raoulia lutescens which is a synonym of R. australis according to the online version of Flora of New Zealand

Raoulia subsericea

New Zealand native groundcover forms gray-green mat with white flowers July-Aug.  The leaves are greener and a little coarser than our R. australis.  Full sun, gritty, humus rich soil. Protect from winter wet. Use in rock garden, scree bed or trough where it's slow-growing habit will work well. Hardy to 0 o F. Asteraceae
