Hardy Iceplant

This group of South African succulents can generally tolerate more water than some other succulents

although they may also suffer in wet winter conditions.

Providing good drainage can increase longevity.

A note on the cultivation of Delosperma cooperi:

For the past couple of years we have had volunteer Delosperma cooperi plants growing under the benches in our open hoop houses at the nursery.  They have grown exceptionally large with healthy foliage yearround in moist, partially shaded conditions in fertile soil with average drainage.  The only downside we can see is that they don't bloom quite as much as those in the full sun, still impressive though.
