Small Rock Garden

Sisters Linda Reymers and Sally Medford built and planted this rock garden
on Mother's Day 2007 in memory of their mother, Betty Reymers.

Special rocks collected by Betty were included in the garden.
Betty loved to hike and always filled her pockets with the rocks she collected.
She was a member of the North American Rock Garden Society (NARGS).

The rock garden was built near Sally's house and patio
to allow easy access for viewing and tending.

This garden was built in a location where it receives morning sun
and afternoon shade. This is a good environment for many alpine plants.
It is also helpful to identify micro-climates that can affect the garden.
In this situation the house provides more shade to one end and
shade tolerant plants were planted in that area while
sun plants were planted in the more sunny end.

Linda and Sally built and planted this small rock garden in one day
and expect to enjoy it for many years - especially on Mother's Day!
